I’m feeling cheated with just the four of them!

Another 4 courses tonight.
Seafood salad - prawns and squid included
Pasta with basil pesto, asparagus and flaked toasted almonds
Swordfish in a herb crust
Cheese and….jam!

Going to have to keep this up when I get home. ;)

Well that didn’t last long. Two egg rolls last night!

It's going to be - pulled pork, in BBQ sauce, with new potatoes and green beans for dinner.

Yesterday, was a bit of a disaster - it was supposed to be Hunters Chicken, chips and green beans. We've been getting more and more suspicious of the smaller top oven, over recent weeks, so to heat up, slow to cook, but when I've checked it with the IR thermometer, it has been about right.

Yesterday, the most used top oven (gas), seemed not to be cooking the chicken much at all, and the gas flame didn't seem to go up a notch, when the temperature was increased. So everything was cooked, and ready, apart from the Hunters Chicken. So we had to do a rush job, of heating up the bigger bottom oven, to finish it off.

This morning we whipped the oven out, to investigate, thinking it might be just a blocked jet, but that was clear, instead, the flame failure device had failed. I'm trying to track down a replacement, at the moment.

I tracked a number down, varying in price from £50, to £220. Well beyond what I was willing to pay, to fix it, and quite ridiculous for such a simple part. I fired off several enquiries, and managed to source one for £22, delivered free, so that's on order.

Yesterday, I found that the initial flame, wasn't adequate to heat the thermocouple, to open the FFV, but I could get the oven to work normally, if I heated the thermocouple with a blowtorch, it would then work normally. The FFV, was obviously intended to pass enough gas, even when closed, to heat the thermocouple, but wasn't allowing enough gas through to do the deed.

Sausages, mash, kale, roast onions and a Yorkie pudding with lashings of gravy.
