Small boat crossings

My point is that if this money wasn't being spent on migrant accommodation, it would be sent overseas to help poor countries. It is part of the foreign aid budget. There would be no extra money for the NHS.

It could be diverted to the NHS, were it not being chucked away, supporting people with no right at all to be here.

At the moment, the help to migrants counts as foreign aid. I understand that the foreign aid budget could be cut further if the government so desires. That is a whole other discussion. It was 0.7% of GDP until 2021. Then the Tories cut it to 0.5% during covid. Labour are already cutting it to 0.3%.

  • Controversy: The use of hotels for asylum accommodation is a deeply contentious issue across the UK.
  • Reasons for hotel use: Hotels are intended as temporary housing while asylum claims are processed, due to a lack of other available accommodation.
  • Cost: Housing asylum seekers in hotels has cost UK taxpayers approximately £8 million per day
You haven’t got a solution

This is a very silly comment.

Nobody asked for them to come here, nobody has a solution…..so what is the point in saying it.

Farage does not have a solution, but I bet you will be voting for him, because he says he does.
