Small boat crossings

£6 billion would make a good difference to the NHS, besides - the immigrants when they get here, do get put at the front of the queue for any medical attention they might need. Those who have actually contributed to the system, just get pushed further, and further to the rear.

Basically, the best way, to be warm, comfortable, in nice surroundings, well-fed, and with your health needs attended to promptly - is to arrive on our shores from an inflatable dingy, having destroyed all of your documents mid-channel.

My point is that if this money wasn't being spent on migrant accommodation, it would be sent overseas to help poor countries. It is part of the foreign aid budget. There would be no extra money for the NHS.

These figures are meaningless. You only have to look at how peoples lives have changed, ie community's and public services all been put under pressure by these ilegal migrants. Doesn't matter how you view a graph from last year, we are not dealing with a blip on a spreadsheet here, this is ridiculous the amount of people coming here and if not stopped soon, each boatload will make a difference as we are full already.

You dont seem to do much thinking full stop

OMG!!

I actually think the opposite is true. I try to look at all sides and I sometimes get overwhelmed by the amount of information.

Yes you do - people always seem to be needing to point things out to you that you never thought of.

....now that overall migration is down, to ease the burden. Dumb Brexers voted to swap hard working Europeans for idle boat migrants.
Shmucks.

That is how a discussion is supposed to work! It is an exchange of information and ideas. I realise I am in a minority on here in that I actually want to discuss issues rather than just argue about them. I am always happy to admit that I didn't know things and thank people for information. Others would prefer to spend a hundred pages arguing over the meaning of a single word rather than admit they had made a mistake. I think my way is better.

  • Controversy: The use of hotels for asylum accommodation is a deeply contentious issue across the UK.
  • Reasons for hotel use: Hotels are intended as temporary housing while asylum claims are processed, due to a lack of other available accommodation.
  • Cost: Housing asylum seekers in hotels has cost UK taxpayers approximately £8 million per day
