no we arent, we are in a government that is dealing with a doom loop of 14 years

2010 to 2019 -an austerity doom loop

2016 to 2020 -a brexit doom loop

2022 -Liz Truss trickle down doom loop

under the Conservatives wages for the lower paid stagnated all through austerity whist the richest people saw their wealth grow by a vast amount

and then it grew even faster when covid started
You've literally redefined what a Doom loop is.

tax take reduces = more taxes = tax take reduces = more takes - repeat. That is a doom loop.

Millions raised in tax increases.

Record breaking tax take.
Motorbiking refuses to admit Conservatives started freeze on tax allowances in 2019 and set out plans for it to remain frozen until 2028

Motorbiking didnt complain when it wasa Conservative policy, but the exact same policy under a Labour govt and suddenly its terrible

poor Motorbiking tribalism at its finest

oh look:

22billion 22billion... repeat and fade. BOC's

Scrapping the two-child cap.. so people who work and pay taxes now bankroll every extra child in families who don’t or can’t support themselves. Larger welfare-dependent families or families accustomed to having many children will get significantly more money, and that bill lands on us workers, not them. = More votes for Labour.

That's all i need to say that speaks volumes about how inept this government is. Truly ****ed up.

your own quote corrects you.

Come on NotchyFacts even you can read.

Last year's black hole was the Tory one apparently.

Whose is this year's black hole, and whose fault will next year's inevitable shortfall be?

At what point will the govt actually admit responsibility for their mess?

OK Einstein, how will that work for cars under 3 years old?

Page 7 Drivers will estimate and pay for their mileage alongside their existing VED payments; compared to alternatives considered, this model minimises reporting requirements for taxpayers, whilst respecting motorists’ privacy. This reform will ensure a fair transition to electric vehicles.

page 16 Alongside paying their VED each year, under eVED motorists will estimate their mileage for the year ahead, pay an upfront charge based on their estimate or spread their payment across the year, and then submit their actual mileage at the end of the year to trigger a reconciliation. Motorists will have their mileage checked annually,

and it applies to hybrids too.

All UK-registered EV and PHEV cars will be in scope of eVED from April 2028

I already told you about cars under 3 years, but you took no notice.

For vehicles under 3 years old, the government intends for these cars to attend an additional mileage check at an accredited provider – MOT garages. This would be around their first and second anniversary, but the government is also seeking

There's pages and pages of this I'm not posting it all

yeah -a doom loop set up by Tories

1) Brexit

2) terrible management of covid

3) destruction of public services: prisons literally at point of collapse, highest ever NHS waiting lists, mental health services, midwifery, social services, councils..............all utterly destroyed under Tories

but hey Motorbiking has his head in the Telegraph so he will deny reality

Are other business' in your sector making profits?

Doesn't matter how tough it gets out there, people still need products.

Cars are 1 of the 1st expenses that people cut down on, less servicing, delaying repairs, DIY, etc. But like any business if you are getting enough money in the door it's not the minimum wage rise that's the problem.

I don't buy all this markets collapsing, sorry
No, the other businesses in our sector are struggling too and we're all scrapping over what business there is available, driving down prices to unsustainable levels.

Demand has been suppressed by government actions and prices have been raised by government actions. Put the two together and you crash the economy.

Using your example, people buy fewer cars, car manufacturers lay off staff, car manufacturer suppliers lay off staff, consumer confidence goes down, even less cars get sold, manufacturers lay off more staff etc etc and the doom loop continues as the effect spreads out into retail, house building and all the other areas of the economy.

It's gone past the consultation but you keep relying on it

I'll stick to the information being given out

it is funny how people on here are complaining bitterly about minimum wage going up

those same people voted for brexit to put an end to cheap labour -and were crowing about how lorry drivers were getting paid more
