But the need gets paused, and during that pause that's when businesses struggle.
This government can't see that, so is adding fuel to the fire by loading costs onto employers at the worst time. ie the employers NI and minimum wage increases.
Business is always cyclical, but every time a high cost to start up business (like a manufacturer) shuts down, its rare that a new entrant starts up when the economy improves again, particularly in the SME world. That's why we've become so service based and have allowed manufacturing to whither on the vine.
