Budget

So taxes up by £30 billion

My crystal ball sees this as damaging the economy further.

Let’s review in 12 months when Reeves successor does the next budget

What is required is some thing radical

Some thing that will cheer the population up

Happy drugs ;)

They should be put into the water supply

Every one would be bombed out of there eads and happy :giggle::giggle:

But the need gets paused, and during that pause that's when businesses struggle.

This government can't see that, so is adding fuel to the fire by loading costs onto employers at the worst time. ie the employers NI and minimum wage increases.

Business is always cyclical, but every time a high cost to start up business (like a manufacturer) shuts down, its rare that a new entrant starts up when the economy improves again, particularly in the SME world. That's why we've become so service based and have allowed manufacturing to whither on the vine.

You're just doing it wrong Lower, listen to the MOT tester.

It's like it's the 1st tough budget people have seen.

There's either some very short memories or very young people out there.

A good business will survive and make money.

It's tough out there, but it always has been.

There was nothing in the budget to stimulate growth. If the budget is inflationary it will lead to job losses and recession and in turn higher govt borrowing costs.
The bond markets will decide,

Only if it can continue to sell in a market where no-one's buying.
Thats the result of having people with no money to spend.

And that's not the fault of the budget, you have to look at the last few years for that

Easy to blame the budget, but it's only part of the story

A good business will survive tough times.

Unfortunately having to deal with the catastrophic mess left by the last bunch means pain now.

Brexit has caused massive damage to this country, damage that has continued to grow.

by 2025 brexit has

1) reduced Uk gdp by 6% to 8%

2) reduced investment by between 12% and 18%

3) reduced employment by 3% to 4%

4) reduced productivity by 3% to 4%
