Budget

And now we need to add Taxi fares to the doctors.
And countless taxis to school for the thousands of children who have been 'diagnosed' (online) with ADHD or Autism for substantial monetary reward.
Yes, yes, I know that there are genuine cases out there, but come off it!

What percentage are not genuine?

I taught primary for 20 years. In that time I only had three pupils who couldn't function in the normal classroom environment. This isn't the right place to talk freely about such things in detail, but the parental pressure for support from teachers during the 'diagnosis' period is insane. Oftentimes young teachers will sign a declaration even if the listed behaviour traits don't manifest at school. It's fraudulent and criminal.

Not just for free taxis but as a gateway for other benefits.

My sister works as a welfare driver. Last week, a pupil hit her, pulled her hair and spat at her.
She just carries on working... and paying her taxes... supporting the degenerate parents who have made such a terrible job of raising the children who abuse her. Who needs that at 60? What a life!

I expect the pupils parents are Reform voters…..the leader enjoys inflicting verbal racial abuse and encouraging thugs to riot.

What percentage do you think are genuine?
About the same as the percentage that come from good, honest, hard-working families.
I taught 600, so 0.5% based on my lived experience.
Please don't mark my maths homework! Lol

Are you suggesting that those who vote Reform UK are racist and violent?

Utter rubbish. Lots are, you need to step out of your echo chamber now and then. The triple-lock is going to bankrupt the country if it doesn't stop.

Even Labour are beginning to work this out.

But... the current crop of pensioners sadly seem to be very afflicted by entitlement. I don't know why, perhaps it's the modern way but most are pretty selfish and ungrateful. My wartime grandparents' generation lived modestly but comfortably in retirement and just got on with life. My parents' boomer generation seem to feel entitled to a decent car and a couple of foreign holidays a year, all from the tiny amounts of tax and NI they paid for often a shorter time than they'll spend retired. They'll stop voting for whoever stops feeding them more free money, regardless of the impact on their children and grand-children. They're eating their own young.
So you want to tell all the pensioners that they don't deserve it

Ok.

I'f id worked all my life and been told I was going to get a pension at the end id be pretty annoyed if it was taken away.

Pay better wages and then maybe there's a case for privatisation of pensions. Til then, they are necessary

Look at the uproar about taking the winter bonus payment away

I don't think any serious, electable politician intends to "take away" the pension.

However it is widely agreed, across parties, that the ratcheting up of pensions, unlike any other wage or benefit, does not make sense and is not affordable.

Unfortunately it appears that no politician dares to say so, until after they have retired from office.

I am retired myself, and can see why the ratchet needs to end.

The WFA is also nonsense. So is the £10 Christmas bonus. If whoever is not in government is always going to deny it, it could be wrapped into a general increase in the weekly amount.
