Pah, democracy is just a formality.

Starmer will rejoin the EU, in all but name. It will all be dressed up as a trade deal and/or a "reset".

Hopefully they won't have the time to formally rejoin before they get thrown out. In the very unlikely event of them getting another term then it would definitely be on the cards.

Perhaps an all-out war with Russia could be the perfect excuse to have an emergency temporary rejoin?

is democracy a static event?
So... we have another referendum, after saturation bombing of propaganda by the govt and BBC again. Say 51% vote to rejoin. We rejoin.

What next? By this logic we must have another vote in another ten years. Perhaps make it a regular thing, we can join then leave every decade.

I'm very sure that if we did rejoin we wouldn't like it. The good old days of booming economies across Europe aren't there any more. We'd just be joining France and Germany circling the economic plughole and would just get dragged down by them.

Say 51% vote to rejoin.

It was foolish to have such a major constitutional change decided by such a small margin

But if such a small margin was allowed to turn left, it cannot be denied to turn right.

However, the number of surviving Brexers is now very much smaller than 49%

A much more difficult problem would be to persuade the 27 nations that UK is not a barmy timewaster. Expect a very long process and a very long probation.

For now, regaining access to the Single Market is a hard enough ambition. It would be a huge step in repairing the damage to our country that the Brexers caused.

The reason we need to rejoin is that leaving hasn't worked. Not changing something that doesn't work doesn't make sense.
It may even help with immigration, which many here seem bothered about.

And you evidence for this is where? We are worse off outside the EU, even the Telegraph has admitted this.
