WimpOMG went to the gym earlier after my big drinking day had finished. Now torn a muscle in my shoulder because I was a bit typsy. Lesson to everyone, don't lift weights drunk!!!!!

I know, I was totally embarrassed, a couple of the girls from the offices asked me to go to the gym with them, I tried showing off and instead showed myself up. In agony nowWimp

Swapping SOX for SON?I've had the big double-extension ladders up now, for what seems like a couple of weeks, on the drive, awaiting a suitable opportunity, to swap the old LPS yellow light fitting, for a more modern HPS white light. Mid-week, the weather allowed me to try to get up there, but I went dizzy, half-way up, so I had to call it off, and seek out some help. The cavalry arrived this morning, and at last got the job done, tested, and working.
No wonder the old fitting didn't emit much light, it was part full of water, and the inside of the lens, absolutely filthy.

yes there most certainly isSwapping SOX for SON?
Aren't there LED alternatives?

We convert all of sox E and SON-T to LED for greater efficiency. Once the ballast goes it is an expensive repair and the bulbs are becoming very expensive, it all outweighs the value of the fitting. This once very expensive fitting, cost me £0.00, and they are as efficient as LED - so why not make use of it?

Yes we replace the ballasts with the electronic ballasts as it has everything built into it, igniter and no need for the capacitor. We have large stocks of replacement parts for every light imaginable, we only repair specials that are period lights and of historical value with the parts, everyday SON-T etc is rewired to LED preserving the fitting. We have LED replacement bulbs that utilise the existing ballast but once the ballast fails we can simply bypass the ballast and use straight 240v. The same LED replacements that we use can run on either.Yep, I appreciate all that, but I had the fitting, and spare lamps in stock, but it had a failed ballast of type no longer available. Rocky, kindly donated three electrically compatibles, though not physically, making the exercise worth-while. I was able to mount the ballast unit indoors, the other side of the wall.
