An awkward Christmas for lefties?

The irony being, you voted for more illegal immigration, and more legal immigrantion from non-EU countries.
Go on then - explain how someone voted for more illegal immigration?

I assumed it was a Boris reference, as that was the best way in which I could create something resembling logic from your words. If I misinterpreted then explain what vote you are actually referring to?

leaving the EU meant losing any leverage the UK has over France in preventing small boats.

I presume youve heard of the Dublin agreement?

Is that it? We never had any leverage.

Small boats was partly an accident of timing, partly because the truck checks were increased as a result of us leaving. We previously had an unknown (probably large) number getting through in all that free-flowing trade in trucks. The difference was that they were invisible inside trucks before, now they're exposed on the sea.

I suppose you think it's just a coincidence that small boat crossings increased from just hundreds in 2018 to tens of thousands post 2021?

More likely it's because they couldn't get in via the trucks any more, as they were doing before Brexit. The additional checks meant that they'd get spotted so they switched tactics.

The only difference is that they're now visible, previously they weren't.

But it's also possible it is just random coincidence. It also happened around the time Charles became king, but I don't think anyone thinks it was his fault. Sometimes things just happen at the same time, correlation doesn't prove causation.

Brexit ended free movement, creating EU worker shortages that were filled by non-EU migrants. Post-Brexit immigration policy, combined with global events and economic needs, encouraged a massive influx of non-EU migrants.
You made it worse by voting to leave the EU.

I suppose you think it's just a coincidence that trade with the EU, which is are still our largest trading area, has dropped by approximately 15% since Brexit?

And I suppose you think it's also just a coincidence that GDP has dropped by more than 4% since Brexit?

Complete rubbish.

Brexit plus Covid made the Tory government panic and deliberately open the floodgates, as they feared there would be a shortage of nurses.

Well, this is the official story. More likely they just wanted to make wages lower and didn't want to become even more unpopular by forcing the work-shy Brits to get off their arses and do something useful.

Whatever the reason, nobody voted for it and it wasn't necessary or caused by brexit.

Not rubbish, facts. Brexit made things worse, your voted for it.

Isn't that the agreement whereby more migrants came in than went out because the right to join their family.
But it allowed us some control. Look at the massive increase in illegal and legal immigration from when we left the EU. Numbers don't lie. Admittedly there were other factors, but Brexit exacerbated the situation.

More random word-bursts of nonsense.

Nobody voted for open-border immigration - either by voting to leave the EU or by electing Boris. The choices made by a muppet government were theirs, our voting system doesn't require our politicians to consult us or even to obey their own manifesto.

Brexit should have reduced immigration. The Tories made the opposite happen. For whatever reasons, possibly even as punishment to the population for voting wrongly, who knows. Remoaners have some pretty weird, bitter ideas.
