Wrong. It's to encourage the native population to have children, to remove the justification used for immigration that we need them due to our declining birth rate.

He wants to be Defence Secretary for Burnham. Has probably already done a deal to get the job on condition that he damages Starmer now, to help Burnham in Makerfield now and in Westminster after.

Benefits - particularly Paying people to breed (more idlers) - that will increase the UK's commitment to reducing global warming / Climate Crisis. Illegal Immigrants.
I'm surprised they haven't started taxing benefits yet, such is their incompetence with the economy.
The state pension is on the brink of that, it's bumping into the income tax allowance that's been frozen for years.

It's national self-interest, like every decent government has had for ever. Until we reached the last 20 years, when hating your own people and history apparently became compulsory among the political class.
