Do you think you’ll ever get another dog? It’s been just over a year since we lost our Susie and we are now hoping to get another one. Our friend bred her and she took one of her other dogs to be mated a few months ago and had it been successful, we would have been expecting a new pup at the end of July. It didn’t take though so she will be taking another one to be mated in the very near future.

TBH we discussed this before we even lost them, we said we would get a rescue dog thaty has had a hard life and give it a good one. It is a bit raw at the moment as we still haven't got past the bursting into tears mode. But I know we will get another eventually

Exactly the same as us. We considered a rescue dog through Spaniel aid but the only problem was that without fail, all of them said either not suitable for families with children or only suitable for families with children over 12 years old. As we regularly have our two year old and seven year old grandchildren staying over, it was too much of a risk. We might still consider fostering them (the spaniels!) for the aid a couple of weeks at a time before they get adopted but we're not 100% sure on that yet either.

I wished we had the strength to foster but we would get too attached and wouldn't be able to do it. We both loved our dogs like kids, we are heartbroken at the moment but we have been down this road before. We keep saying we can't go through this again but we love animals too much not to ever get one again.
