Do you think you’ll ever get another dog? It’s been just over a year since we lost our Susie and we are now hoping to get another one. Our friend bred her and she took one of her other dogs to be mated a few months ago and had it been successful, we would have been expecting a new pup at the end of July. It didn’t take though so she will be taking another one to be mated in the very near future.Sorting out all of Brians food and lead, bed and treats to donate to the animal rescue centre, so sad but he would want that.

TBH we discussed this before we even lost them, we said we would get a rescue dog thaty has had a hard life and give it a good one. It is a bit raw at the moment as we still haven't got past the bursting into tears mode. But I know we will get another eventuallyDo you think you’ll ever get another dog? Exactly the same as us. We considered a rescue dog through Spaniel aid but the only problem was that without fail, all of them said either not suitable for families with children or only suitable for families with children over 12 years old. As we regularly have our two year old and seven year old grandchildren staying over, it was too much of a risk. We might still consider fostering them (the spaniels!) for the aid a couple of weeks at a time before they get adopted but we're not 100% sure on that yet either.TBH we discussed this before we even lost them, we said we would get a rescue dog thaty has had a hard life and give it a good one. I wished we had the strength to foster but we would get too attached and wouldn't be able to do it. We both loved our dogs like kids, we are heartbroken at the moment but we have been down this road before. We keep saying we can't go through this again but we love animals too much not to ever get one again.Exactly the same as us. With Spaniel aid in the link I give above, fosterers are just assessing the dogs for others (see the detailed write ups for each dog) before they are put out for adoption. Many fosterers end up adopting them anyway so there is no problem with getting too attached to them. I would assume other dog charities are the same. When there’s just two of you in the house, it does seem empty without a pet if you’ve had one before.I wished we had the strength to foster but we would get too attached and wouldn't be able to do it.

I hate the silence and the broken routine that we are now experiencing, just memories that hurt. With Spaniel aid in the link I give above, fosterers are just assessing the dogs for others (see the detailed write ups for each dog) before they are put out for adoption. The Berk is looking good.Out for some drives in some of my fleet.
Just popped over there quickly to water my plants and on the bistro table in front of my shed were my long lost keys! Dunno who found them or where but it was obviously someone that knew I’d lost them. Been on the ground for some time judging by the rust on them. It’ll be interesting to know where they were and who found them.Over the allotment. Shut my shed, snapped the padlock on, drove up to the gates, looked for my key and realised I had shut them in the shed. Luckily someone else was over there so I drove back to my end of the allotment, borrowed his gate key, drove back, unlocked the gate, drove back to give the key back, drive back to the gate, only to find someone else up the other end of tge allotment had come in and locked the gate behind him. I had to find him and get him to let me out. Drove round the corner to my sisters house, borrowed their gate key ( which also had a spare key to my shed) went back, opened the shed, no keys! I looked high and low all over the place, even re-dug the bed I had dug this morning in case I had dropped it and buried it, no luck. It was getting late now so I quickly went up our High Street to get another gate key cut. Went back to the allotment to try it out and the bloke in the shop had used the wrong blank - the hole in the middle of the key was too small and it wouldn’t go over the pin in the keyhole so it wouldn't even go into the lock. I’ve got to go back tomorrow now and get that sorted. What a fukabout!
