RNLI

In 2024, the RNLI launched 114 times to small boats, just over 1% of national call-outs, saving 58 lives, including children.
The five Channel-facing South East stations (Dover, Ramsgate, Margate, Dungeness, Walmer) launched a combined 311 times in 2025.
Of the RNLI's national total of 109 Channel small-boat launches, virtually all of them would have come from this cluster of stations (Dover and Walmer are explicitly the ones repeatedly named in RNLI's own case studies as the primary responders).
Regional percentage (launches):

Launches
Total launches, 5 SE Channel stations311
Channel small-boat launches (national figure)109
Channel share of these stations' launches~35%

Quite a difference a little scrutiny makes.

The public reacted strongly. Donations jumped by 3,000%, and visits to the volunteer page rose 270%

The new CEO is doing a great job of turning things around.

They should charge the criminals who are sending illegal immigrants in boats for the services of the RNLI / Royal Navy.

So here's a couple of questions for all the RNLI haters here...

What exactly would you have them do when a small boat in trouble is reported?

Let people drown? Yes or no?

Because the RNLI is set up to rescue anyone, no questions asked.

And they are manned by human beings, unlike their detractors it seems!

So would you have the crews be in a situation whereby they know that they could have saved people but were told not to?

Back when small boats were at their highest...

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is on course for the highest annual fundraising total in its near 200-year history. Donations swelled after the charity attracted huge public support following rightwing attacks for helping save the lives of asylum seekers at risk of drowning in the Channel.

The RNLI said it has received a significant increase in support, with online donations rising by 50% this year.

Titter

Each time there are right wing attacks, the RNLI see a boost in donations.

Keep it up boyos.
Great result, only a really vindictive seafarer would want to leave someone to drown

How much do you contribute monthly?, or are you a really vindictive person who wants to see others drown?

My position, I don't really care how many taxis they provide, but they won't be using my money to provide this service.

I 100% agree with your stance. The illegals getting a taxi ride from them has really dented the reputation and the stance of. the RLNI.

Yes.

Just as it is with mountain rescue teams, cave rescue teams, doctors treating stroke, heart attack, diabetes, cancer, gang violence victims.

Nope. Hundreds of thousands of people go walking in the hills but a minute quantity ever need rescuing

Same for cave rescues but on a much smaller scale

Doctors are irrelevant to this debate as nobody deliberately has a stroke, heart attack etc etc

They will be picked up by the authorities as is the case for the vast majority of illegals.

It wasn't a solo effort. Not even sure I was privvy to how much was eventually raised or that I even cared at the time. That lies with the bean counters.

It wasn't an auction. Every little helps.

Did you know that every time you RWR dolts announce you are recinding your donations because of right wing political whining, the RNLI donations increase?

Accepting assistance if my life was in danger makes me a hypocrite?

How?

Because you would be accepting it from some one you consider to be a

Rapist
Murderer
Scum bag
Fraudster
Thief
Mass murderer / genocidal killer
Racist

Etc etc

Ah, so it's ok for the 'authorities' to provide as you call it a 'taxi service', but not the RNLI?

And by what you deem 'authorities', what assets do they have that don't co-ordinate with the RNLI?

Could you tell us which of those organisations is better off placed for saving lives?

'Authority' or the RNLI?

Borderforce are able to see who the skipper is and ensure he is arrested for his crime. The Coast Guard is responsible for coordinating rescue.

They are fully equipped and deal with 95% of all illegal crossings. They can also seize any available evidence.

There is no need for a charity funded organisation to damage its reputation by facilitating illegal immigration.
