Quick recap:

Very small kitchen, 2 double sockets is enough
Extractor hood on lighting circuit. Never seen that, good idea if allowed
Cooker isolator under worktop in adjacent cupboard, I read its allowed so long as its in the upper section above the cupboard's contents.
Hob and oven, share connector unit, got it
Fridge/freezer plug is off to the side. Appreciate the consideration.

Homes that have not been upgraded is different from actively choosing to not have a protective device in a new installation.

The idea of the mcb is you protect the food

So the freezer goes faulty, someone grabs the door handle and is electrocuted.

True but I much prefer the 2m from the cooking appliances approach and not too difficult to find in haste if required .

If we takes the Regs as the bottom line of what we musr do then anything we consider better than the regs state to comply must usually be desireable surely?

As to RCD or RCBO in my kitchen cooker on its own RCBO and all but fridge and freezers on a ring final RCBO, with the rest of that side of the house.

The fridges and freezers run from two double RCD sockets, supplied with SWA from an inverter so an EPS supply.

To make sweeping statements about RCD or RCBO is assuming they are all housed in the consumer unit, this does need to be the case, I think it is good to power the fridge or freezer from a supply unlikely to fail, but up to you as to what lengths you go to.
