Picture of the almost mid-week!™

When the switch is off the milkman knows that he may pay a 'special' visit.

When the switch is on, the milkman knows that the post man is making a recorded delivery and had better collect old ma Reillys out-standing bill!!!!

The milkman has forgotten the code and just out of shot the postman is attaching stamps to the milkmans face????

possibly........

Or if the LHS does open, the fitter used 2" x 8's to fix the switch and trunking and since then it doesn't open

How about this....

The switch has been installed upside down. It would appear from the position that the switch is on, but there would be no need for it to be on (assuming it switches lights) as it's daylight outside.

What makes you think that?

Convention. Usually if a switch is down (light switch, switch on a socket etc.), it's on. That's what my light switches look like if the lights are on anyway (assuming it's not a 2 way circuit of course).

Instead of taking the photo around midday you should have been eating lunch?

Been working.......

The switch is on an inside porch, switching the porch light. It is two way with a switch in the kitchen leading to the porch (hence 'upside down').

The switch is poorly installed with regards external influence, it could get wet easily, but this was not why I was involved with this.

This is one porch in a row of many identical bungalows. Same sparky wired the lot, same switch, same postions.

Trouble is.........

EVERY top screw in EVERY bungalow is lovelly and live!

Top screw was just that little bit too long, and managed to screw into the 3 core, missing the earth, but making contact with one of the lives.

Points to anyone who can guess the fault.....

Nope, I can't see anything amiss, there.

EVERY top screw in EVERY bungalow is lovelly and live!

Well, now you mention it, its so obvious. I can't understand why no-one spotted the live screw in the photo.....
