Picture of the almost mid-week!™

Well would you believe it..

How many people have had atickle from them then?

Are these places council owned?

Cannot believe that he has got away with such an inapropriate switch and still managed to bugger it up

Well done Lectrician had me and a few others guessing most the day

but apart from that very obvious fault thats not the only one, what about the mouse pointer on the lawn surely i get a point for that

I cant see a mouse pointer

I thought it was a fairly obvious fault for you guys to guess! I did say fault, and not 'non-compliance'.

The switches are in holiday challets.

As far as I know, these switches have been in for atleast 8yrs. No complaints up until now. It was actually me that got the first shock - I lent on the pillar to take my shoes off before going onto new carpet.....The painter on site heard me talking at lunch, and then said he has had a belt a couple of times when painting the frames! He said he thought nothing of it! I am guessing either no customer recieved a shock, of they where nieve like the painter.

Shocking really - been like it all that time. I went along to the couple challets next door, and they where the same, so got my apprentice to check the rest. We were only there fitting room stats in each challet for myson heaters.

Well that was an utter waste of everyone's time.

I fail to see the point of posting a photograph that contains no hint whatsoever of what the fault could be. Or am I narrow-minded? If so, other people should be able to "guess" the fault with this:

It`s not really part of the electrical installation at all but a cunningly disguised miniature "wall safe" ?

Well that was an utter waste of everyone's time.

Well I do not think so, and I did not ask you to read the thread.

I thought it was pretty obvious to be honest, and I did say FAULT, not observation or deviation or crap like that.

Same sparky wired the lot!
Top screw was just that little bit too long, and managed to screw into the 3 core, missing the earth, but making contact with one of the lives.
As an aside, I wonder if that same sparky is now exercising the same diligence as part of the Competent Person Scheme, leaving homeowners with that warm glowing feeling of a job properly done in accordance with the law...

OK. Just to be clear then, who did you ask to read the topic? :?

I thought it was pretty obvious to be honest, and I did say FAULT, not observation or deviation or rubbish like that.
If you're going to get picky with words, then you also wrote "guess", not spot or deduce or 'rubbish like that'. The word "guess" implies that the fault was neither obvious nor visible.

Children...I know you are bored as its half term..But if you cant play properly, then dont play together...

Hey Softus,
The fault with that building is that, while there are TV aerials on top, there are no TVs inside. Its obvious..... haha

Well, you're wrong.

The building contains an architrave switch, as is commonplace, and the top screw was just that little bit too long, and managed to screw into the T&E cable, missing the earth, but making contact with the live conductor.

Surely that was obvious? :?
