Square D Domae units

hi yes they should do best thing to do is to go to an electrical wholesales eg cef, electric center, ac electrical Not b&q ect

I've had a look through the Schneider catalogue, and there are no RCBOs listed for the domae range.

IIRC, their MCBs are a bit of an odd size, so you may struggle to find one to fit.

But that would then mean the installation would not comply with BS7671

I've had a look through the Schneider catalogue, and there are no RCBOs listed for the domae range.

They do list some for their Qwikline II boards but no idea whether they are compatible. You could try emailing them via http://www.squared.co.uk/ but no idea how useful they will be.

Given that their website is a pain to log in to and navigate to what you want and requires registration just to download a brochure (which I hate with a passion  ) then who knows.

If you have a few boards then it may not matter the same, goes back to the design of the circuits.

Why haven't you then?

Figure 3a in my OSG shows a time delay RCD as the main incomer, which is a rather different situation.

Granted some disagree that it complies with the regs, but it may well disappear in the 17th OSG anyway, mainly due to the reduced disconnection times that will be required on most TT installations.

Because they haven't made errors in two of their own publications.

A Main Switch is a device for isolation. 537-02-02 lists the relevant British Standards - including BE EN 60898 (mcb) and BS EN 61008 (RCD). The only extra consideration for a domestic main switch is that it must switch all live conductors.

314-01-01 is an important Reg. But 'inconvenience' doesn't over ride preserving life, preventing fire, danger etc. in the event of a fault.

A 30mA RCD as Main Switch is generally considered to be poor practice in a typical domestic installation and in conflict with 314-01-01, but I would suggest there can be exceptions.

EDIT: The reason why the OSG illustration shows a time delay RCD is to provide discrimmination with the 30mA RCD and has nothing to do with the function/operation of Main Switch.

Hi thanks RF i suspected they didnt have them in the Domae range as i have checked in the past.
The Quikline ones are not suitable as they clip into the busbar with two prongs on the top.

alrite so how come you can get rcd main incommer board then?

How come you can buy boards with 100A incomers?

How come you can buy boards with 100mA G type RCD incomers?

How come you can buy etc etc etc....
