switched sockets

sorry not enough info on my part !!

They just standard sockets in the upstairs of a house !! also are there any regs about back boxes ? these have just an 'arch' of metal with 2 x 3.5mm holes in that tighten against the wall
 
They should not be switched if used as form of isolation ie. a boiler supply - it forces you to pull the plug out so the isolation is guaranteed.
So no different to a switched fused connection unit then as fitted in most boiler installations? Or could somebody just switch it off without removing the fuse in the same way as a DP switched socket?

There are regs about equipment used. The stuff installed has to be to a BS.
 
I'll try and get a picture when i return there, these items were made for this use eg. they are not home made, they are only suitable for plasterboard walls
