Cutting the seals on the cut-out????

So you've never done it before, and you're going to go ahead without knowing what the risks are, and without any appreciation of the dangers?

Do you have the knowledge required to replace the CU? What's your background, given that you first called it a "mains board"?

Do you have the test equipment needed?

Do you know that replacing a CU is notifiable?

Also does anyone know the cost of such service??

Severe burns and other injuries if things go wrong when you pull the fuse and the cut out falls apart and you have not got the necessary safety equipment.

quoted for truth.

note the risk of this is far multiplied on a metal cutout, that is definitely not DIY territory. if your get it wrong then this happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iClXrd50Z8 ok thats three phase, so your explosion would only be a third of that, still easily kill or hospitalise you.

There's a lot more you need to learn before you can change a CU (main board)
