I was just wondering if anyone could tell me whether spare parts are still available for the Range Powermax 155x? Plus it would appear I may need someone who specialises in these boilers to repair it? If so, anyone recommend someone good in West Yorkshire?

BG coming out tomorrow to look at it but I suspect I know what they are likely to say (No offence to any BG people on here)

can you post what they tell you please, especially any comments on the flue, my son has a powermax 140 ov , thanks in advance

Everything except the cylinder and a few case components I think, why, what's wrong with it? (except it's a powermax!)

the old powermax had many safety issues depending on its aga.many now at 10 years old need all burner seals replacing etc,new burner and baffles as they can give off high co readings.baxi wont even work on them if they are older than 10 years which says it all!!!

never fails to amaze me the amount of ballox written on here about powermax

When the guy comes out from BG get him to pay particular attention to the flueing or as we are told to say now the chimney.

Which bit?, the half a pipe connected to the ridge tile or the other half of it still connected to the boiler? ;)

BG engineers hate these boilers as much as the next. unfortunatly for them, the management at BG say if an appliance is safe, parts and manufacturers instructions are still available, they HAVE to work on it/take it onto contract. arghhhhh!

Sounds fair to me, if its safe , you can get genuine spares makers manual then yes why wouldn't you work on it you can't pick and choose what you will and won't work on (sadly) I hate Worcesters dosn't mean I can turn one away though

bg are the only people to work on them, not even manufacturer will touch them now, parts are expensive and stuff like pumps are going on them which req long drawn out drain down and refills, anyone with one of these should be on contract or thinking of changing it when it goes................oh and when it does go DO NOT PUT A POWERMAX HE IN ITS PLACE :D another bag of nails with safety issues AGAIN with it
