Does anyone know what documentation I should make sure I'm given by the electrician after all the work is done? Anything needed for renting the flat out and possibly selling it at some point.
The work involves partial rewiring (as mentioned) as well as a new RCD unit, 2 extractor fans installed (1 requiring a hole to be cored), new smoke & heat alarms fitted, earth bonding of water pipe and PAT tests.
I think he wants paid as soon as the job is done so I just want to make sure I know exactly what I should be given at that time I meet him.
Are there also any quick checks I should do to make sure everything has been fitted properly again before paying him?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I know it might be a bit different in England with part P etc.
Also are installation certificates needed in addition to a EICR? I need an EICR to rent the flat out, but not sure if also need an installation certificate.
Are these documents on a standard template so you can check it looks correct or does the electrician create his own version of these and they might look different depending on the electrician?

I asked about building warrants & other paperwork for CU replacements a while ago; the answer seems to be that yes in principle you do need a warrant, but no-one bothers:

You'll need that EIC and to have your appliance testing (PAT) done to let out the flat, and mains wired interlinked smoke alarms in hall, living rm (probably) and heat alarm in the kitchen, and CO detector(s) in the same room as the boiler and any internal flue. You don't need an EICR for 5 years if you have had a full rewire and have the EIC for it.
It is Scotland which has warrants - E&W do not.
They will vary a little in formatting, but they should all contain the same information.

Whichever competent person scheme your electrician belongs to will produce their own for him to use - you can probably find out what they look like on their website.
The extent to which "no-one" does or does not bother might not apply when registering a property to be rented out - the council may very well be 100% bothered about work which needed a warrant not having one.

He's used airvent extractor fans in the bathroom and kitchen. I tested the bathroom 1 out by putting the shower on and closing the window. The fan didn't seem to make that much difference to condensation levels.
Also the kitchen 1 is meant to be humidity based but the sparks fitted a switch which presumably will override the humidity sensors if the tenant can't be bothered switching it on?
Has he fitted low quality fans or is the 'airvent' brand standard quality?
