mk1 KA rear hub nut torque

Job done!

Got a couple of new hub nuts and local AP branch because the threads on the old ones didn't look that healthy.

Torqued up from 150Nm to gauge how far the wrench turned on each increment up to 210Nm and used that to guess how much extra tightness the nut need to get to 235Nm.

Used my new Sealey 750mm 1/2 breaker bar on the job and it works a treat. I also have the Sealey 450mm 3/8 breaker bar and I recommend them both

Thanks All for posting.

I've pulled one of the old hub nuts apart to satisfy my curiosity. x3 thin nuts that lock against each other. You're always learning in this life.

My dear niece reports the handbrake is amazing since the new shoes were fitted, the reason for taking the drums off in the first place.

Goodness knows who designed that one.....give me the Renault large nyloc or even the Peugeot stake nut for preference.
John :)

Can't knock Henry Ford. Inflation adjusted, one of the wealthiest men ever.

Ford insisted on his engineers finding a way to cast the Ford V8 in a single cast block and after a year of trying, they found a way.
