the 500k or so if we did nothing
Source? Has Greece gone to war since their economy crashed? Has Zimbabwe been busy invading their neighbours? I'm struggling to think of any wars that have kicked off because the economy was suffering. You might be able to claim it for WW2, but that's a massive over simplification mAnd when economies are decimated, "War" sticks up its ugly head.
Yes there is, no there isn't.Their is no evidence to suggest 500k would be dead now if we had did nothing.
How ever many experts are saying lock down or no lock down the numbers will be the same.
Eventually.
No.1. Been tested positive for the virus?
Yes. A work colleague.2. Know someone who has been tested positive for the virus?
No3. Know someone who has been hospitalised or died from the virus?
Personally none, but know people have lost loved ones, my next door neighbour lost her 60 year old friend (a woman). I also know people who work in the NHS who have witnessed what this disease can do and heard first hand from themJust out of interest, how many people on here have either...

The hidden death toll?My Aunt died a few weeks ago with cancer.
She had no contact and a very late diagnosis with the medical profession in the months preceding her death.
That's a very good point.Probably not, because you can't compare the 50,000 or so deaths with the preventive measures we have taken with the 500k or so if we did nothing. We'll, obviously you can compare them one is awful, the other is ten times as awful.
The number of cases per million is skewed according to the testing regime....
Well, Sweden has more cases per million (7,959:4,474) but fewer deaths per million (568:680) so actually not doing that badly.
