The French

No one could have predicted it.

But schools are one of the areas where accepting the increased R might be the right thing imo. However we didn't reduce the R in other areas by shutting pubs etc. to compensate.

The swedes used Fergusons model to show what would happen in Sweden without a lockdown. Fergusons model predicted 40,000 deaths rising to 96,000 deaths by the end of June.

Actual deaths in Sweden. 5,927

Multi generation families aren't the only way it spreads. Someone has to introduce it to that family, perhaps through a trip to the pub or from football practice.

I'd be clamping down on that.

Heard today that two people (not connected) I know of from my ex-local (haven't been in a pub since mid March) were both in the pub on Saturday night both knowing they have Covid. One is alcoholic and in a wheelchair and goes in with his wife. The other person even told other drinkers in there that he had been for a test and tested positive and showed them the result on his mobile.

I could scarcely comprehend this information that was given to me by a reliable source (the ex landlord of the pub in question). It demonstrates stupidity and selfishness and confirms my decision to avoid pubs while we're in this situation. The pub and another nearby pub used by one of the people who tested positive are now both closed because of their actions. The bloke in the wheelchair is now in hospital.

Sadly, I personally know far more people breaking the rules than keeping to them. We broke the rules yesterday as Mrs Mottie babysits our grandson every Thursday. Normally she babysits at our sons house but every third week she has to bring him to ours as he's a noisy bugger and my son is on nights and has to sleep. He's more a risk to us than we are to him though.
