Replacing downlights with led

I'm replacing the bathroom downlights with Collingwood H2 Lite leds. It's a pretty straightforward swap, but can anyone tell me what these bits are for?

can anyone tell me what these bits are for?

Are they how you connect the conductors from your 1.5mm 6242Y (i.e. twin & earth) circuit cable(s) [or R2V if you are sur la continent]?

Can't tell from the photos how the electrical contact is achieved, but the FM makes sense that it does.
 
They're part of the cable grip assembly you do need to put them in for t&e so it's gripped properly

This is how it should look, in the second pic you can see the gap with the cover on is about right to grip a bit of t&e, without those extra bits in place it won't grip properly
