Back when small boats were at their highest...

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is on course for the highest annual fundraising total in its near 200-year history. Donations swelled after the charity attracted huge public support following rightwing attacks for helping save the lives of asylum seekers at risk of drowning in the Channel.

The RNLI said it has received a significant increase in support, with online donations rising by 50% this year.

One wonders if those RW lot who attack the RNLI would accept a 'taxi ride' from them should they find themselves in peril on the sea?

I bet the reply would be the same as an anti vivisectionist who was offered the chance of taking a life saving drug that might have at one point been tested on animals

Its a shame you didn't get your favourite AI to analyse their more recent books.

Income growth of 0.7%, expenditure growth of 3.3%. '23 to '24
Legacies (the RNLI's single biggest income line, ~60% of total) actually fell — from £156.90m in 2023 to £151.30m in 2024, a drop of about 3.6%.

Regular donations and legacies combined were essentially flat (£222.60m → £222.40m)
spending rose steadily each year: £177.2m → £185.6m → £195.3m — up 10% over two years

The new CEO is doing a good job of repairing the damage, but he has a long way to go to turn the reputation around.

Doess any of that include the fund raising from Nosenowt? Or are his efforts on top of these figures?
