Same reason they save any vessel that gets into difficulty at sea. Overloading is probably as more to blame than seaworthiness.
Are you an expert on whether a boat is seaworthy or not?
But if deemed unseaworthy, would you let the occupants drown rather than let the RNLI make the decision to save human lives?

Most of those will have already ordered their Deliveroo boxes and made arrangements to purchase a moped, desperate my arris!!!
Well will somebody please tell the french that then.
They should be rescuing them as soon as the boat gets into 6 foot of water off the French coast.
So the french mustn't think the boat is overloaded then and don't think they need saving.
