I asked what made you think that the french are not doing what they are being paid to do. So far all you (and HWM) have shown is some historic right wing propaganda.
Ther French are being paid to stop small boats and that is EXACTLY what they are doing. And doing a better job than you think.
The weather has been brilliant of late. You (Mottie) could not wait to post up the numbers at one time. Do you have any 2026 spring/summer numbers at hand?

In 2026 they have stopped 6 boats, about ONE third of attempted crossings, and prosecuted 5 smugglers.
"they have started mid-sea interceptions", where boats are escorted back.
The money is dependent on getting results (supposedly).
It's all a bit waffly and unconfirmed.
They mention patrols, road blocks, drones, helicopters, and boats.
I got one of those AI responses where it doesn't actually know much, so keeps repeating what it does know, which sounded like it was a ministerial statement.
It mentioned Human Rights protesters in the way too.
A third won't do, it has to be most of them, to discourage the rest
