You're right. Though the bloke who was fly tipping wasn't one of the usual stabby groomy types - so I took a chance. Obviously he didn't like being told, but didn't get aggressive. I do realise it's a losing battle and UK is being overwhelmed.

Some may have a decent income. But they probably spend it all every month, if they lost their job everything would go back when they missed the payments.
Genuinely wealthy people usually look after their money and spend wisely, and don't feel the need to desperately advertise their wealth, in fact many prefer people not to know they've got a few quid.

Some perhaps. But the genuinely wealthy people I know tend to be discreet about it. It's just good manners, bragging that you're substantially richer than yo is just horrible. Which is what driving a stupidly expensive car is mostly about. OK, some enjoy the performance and features, but it's mostly about peacocking, telling the world how fab you are, therefore how crap they are in comparison.
The person I know with the fanciest brand new £100k+ car has a tiny fraction of the wealth of the bloke I know who drives an old van.
