Just got back from the Dentists. Had a 20 minute scrape and clean with the Hygenist. There were others waiting after me.

Was charged £45! Bleading hells bells thats £135 an hour! Not even plumbers charge that much!!!

Whats the charges like in the rest of the Country or is us down South being stung?

must be you.

i had a specialist anethatist (bloke who knocks you out with injection) a tooth pulled, all for £28.00

I've got news for you Breezer ... He was the local butcher not a dentist

Try cleaning them yourself "properly" in future then the cost of cleaning at the dentist will be zilch.

OOI, can you request this when you need a tooth pulled??? I have a feeling i may need wisdom teeth removing soon :( :( :( :(

most of the dentist near me have gone private so cost has shot up
charged me 40 for xray and 30 for clean 20 for check up so paid xray and check up said forget clean bloody conmen

I pay an annual fee, £206, covers checkups, hygenist, repairs. am getting old fillings replaced by white as and when they wear out.

As I am wiser than most  I had a spurious extra wisdom tooth plucked out under a local, same cover.

Didn't like the crunching :( but it didn't hurt IIRC

Anyone know if Dremmel do an dentistry attachment, kill two birds with one stone and strip my wifes stained wooden carvings at the same time!!!! :P

Besides when you get to my age if you have any teef left at all it is a result!!!!!!!!

steve, you will have to ask your dentist, i asked do they do gas, (i hate having teeth pulled) they said they dont do that anymore, but i can have this injection, so i did.

it is not the dentist that injects you, it really is a specialist who comes in for the day, presumbaly they do a few that day.

He injected me in the hand, and i dont remember a thing, which is what they said will happen.

definently have it done again. (if i have to)

oh, and you have to have the day off work, and some one to take you home, you go to bed and sleep, and sleep.

its called a local anesthetic, but why they inject your hand when they are pulling a tooth i have no idea.

They are not allowed to do gas anymore as they aren't Corgi registered

Same reason hospitals put intravenus cannulas (Venflons) on the back of your hand ... It mainlines the drug straight into the vein.

Works well with heroin also  Allegedly

I can vouch for the mainlining with morphine, after getting busted up when some silly cow had me off my lovely Ducati. One minute pain by the bucketload, phial of morphine via the cannula and....nirvana! I now understand why druggies break into surgeries and steal the stuff...
