One thing that hasn't changed is the relative value of a life...

3,000 innocent dead in NY, and 'we must never forget'...

Tens of thousands of innocent dead in Iraq, and it's 'time to move on'!

Exactly.....people dont mention the 1000's of innocent people killed in Iraq!

Innocent people get killed every day for all sorts of reasons around the globe. Should we mention them all then?

Should we forget them? if we should never forget the victims of 9-11, then we should never forget the innocent people killed in Iraq at the hands of western soldiers?

Indeed. More over we shouldn't forget the innocent people killed by their inglorious despot Saddam either, nor possibly the 1000's of innocent people who will now not be killed after his removal.

More of his people have died since the JOKE illegal WMD invasion than he killed and its just getting worse

Its funny how people can excuse anything to stick to their world view

Absolute nonsense.
9/11 wasn't about war. It was about religion.

The DELIBERATE TARGETING of innocent people to make a POINT.

That's the f*cking difference.

How about other despots that killed loads of innocent people?
Hitler - Gaddaffi - Mugabe to name a few.
How about if our brave service people / civilians didn't combat the might of Nazi Germany, I doubt if many of us would be here to ask the question.

Here's one estimate. And here's another They seem to suggest a significantly large number - perhaps you'd like to make an effort of quantifying a counterclaim by a link to a source stating an estimate for the number of innocent civilians killed due to western intervention?

Cuts both ways

Nobody said it was about war! The war came afterwards.

It was far more political than being about religion. Religion is just a smokescreen.

So why the comparison of the two??????

You made the comparison, not me. I pointed out that there are innocent victims elsewhere, people say they should never forget the victims of 9/11, well the same applies to the innocent victims at the hand of the western military.

........... and the victims of Mugabe etc? What about when he ordered the killing of White farmers? What about Gaddafi killing his own people?
The West wasn't involved then.

I never mentioned Mugabe or Gaddafi, the point was made about 9/11.

The people of America say never forget the victims, i'm just stating that they should not forget the INNOCENT victims at their hands thats all.

People go on and on about how the innocent victims should all be remembered, but what about all the poor guilty bstrds?
No one gives a fck about them.

And as I said earlier, we therefore shouldn't forget ALL INNOCENT VICTIMS from all of history and across the planet. To isolate a particular "batch" (for want of a better word  ) of victims for political purposes is bad enough, but to begin to bander another "batch" as though it's some little game of morality tennis is vile gamesmanship.
