I need a extractor with a light for my en-suite shower. It will be about 2.15m from the shower floor so I've been told that it must be a 12V extractor.
Now does that mean just the light needs to be 12V or also the actual fan, which will be mounted in the loft area.

Thanks.

Or get an a shower/light combo, where the 240v fan is INLINE and therefor in the LOFT!

The light is still 12V.

With repsect to this post. The  in me asks:

For this inline fan/light combo, with a wall switch, outside the bathroom.
None of the wiring is actually in the bathroom. Its in the loft.

Notifiable, or not?

Hi, thanks for the replys.

I have a 'inline' extractor with a shower light.

The light is a 12V bulb connected by PVC hose to a 240v fan mounted in the loft.

Is this OK?

Thanks for all your help........but the last question...honest.

If the fan is located in the loft does it still require a 3 pole fan isolator switch outside the room.

Thanks.

I would put the isolator next to the actual fan in the loft. The isolator is to allow you to safely maintain the fan, and the isolator should be in sight of the fan.
