Hi, I am having an extension and have 2 parallel rsj ( one for inner wall and one for outer wall ) with a 100 cm gap in between. I want to leave the beams exposed as I have designed the kitchen around this idea. What can I use in-between the beams so when I paint them they look like one beam. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah that is all sorted, we have been advised to use special fire retardant paint.

Thin steel plate tack welded on all the way across (or even bolted on with some dome head roofing bolts for that genuine riveted look).
