2 lights wired up to 1 switch - certificate?

In 2012 I had the wall between my loo and bathroom knocked down and the 2 rooms became 1. The 2 lights are now wired to the same switch. An electrician did the work but he didn't provide a certificate. He has now retired and is untraceable. Do I need an electrical safety certificate for the work if I'm selling my house.

The new owner should get a home buyers report and an electrical installation condition report often required by mortgage provider, he should not be relying on paperwork from you.

I got a lovely installation certificate for this house, after I had moved in, it became apparent it was only for the flat under the main house, my fault for not checking.
