More like Groundhog Day.

Nothing new to actually update then apart from continuing the pantomime or did I imagine reading all this new info already?

She’s waiting for bg to come back, don’t hold your breath, last contract customer I went to was told a 3-4 week wait for an all off as they had ‘no’ engineers!

Good morning everyone!

Just a quick update: the pump continued with its tricks over Christmas. I became really annoyed on Christmas Day, so gave the heating actuator a hard knock with a screwdriver handle - and the pump switched off and all was good for 5 days...and then it was back to the constant running.

BritGas installed a ‘suppressor’ inside the boiler (original part from Vaillant) on New Year’s Eve..and fingers crossed it has been working fine ever since. I don’t feel comfortable opening the boiler casing otherwise I would have posted a pic of what was fitted.

So BG wouldn't talk to Vaillant until ...............Allegedly. Shame Agile doesn't post here, he would know how much £..p a generic suppressor costs.

Bet that original vaillant surpressor looks exactly like the Worcester one....even down to the packet and part number!

Why fit a suppressor ? you don't get backfeed on two port valves.

Back on page 1 I mentioned....

Without a heating and hot water demand get them to check the voltage on the boiler switched Live terminal....it may be a problem with induced voltage being sufficient to turn on the boiler even without the motorised valves switching.

The "suppressor" is in effect shorting out any voltage picked up by the long switched Live wire running from the boiler back to the zone valves.

Of course it could be something else

Of course you could use a chunky resistor but that has the disadvantage of dissipating heat when the Switched Live is actually energised.
