im having a gas fire fitted, reading the electric instrutions it states NOT to use 13 amp type plug/socket but connect using a 3 amp fixed fused spur.. ive tried to find one on the sites but cant find.. is there such an animal .. big thanks P M

yep ok, common sense really 
ive found a 13amp D P switch fused unit in my pile of rubbish can i simply replace the 13amp fuse with a 3 amp

yes, you can change the fuse. as for the 2nd part, a fused spur has a fuse on the live. if they have a switch, they normally only switch the live but DP switch live and neutral
