A brexit bonus

there is a labour shortage.

The farm to fork supply chain is missing around half a million of the four million people that usually work in the sector.

Part of this will have come from EU nationals leaving the UK amid the pandemic and Brexit, he said.

Many businesses have reported huge issues in their supply chains in recent months, leaving some shop shelves empty, or forcing restaurants to remove items from their menus.

hey Filly, have you worked out the massive inequality that voting Tory all your life has created

well done for realising EU migrants are not the root of the problem: its UK neo liberalism, that started with Thatcher.

I never voted in my early life because I wasn't particularly drawn to the Tories and I wouldn't vote for Labour having seen the destruction the trade unions wreaked on the nation.
I didn't vote for Thatcher simply because I thought a woman wouldn't be up for the job.

First time I voted was for Tony Blair, I saw him as a ray of hope. I was wrong, he ****** me over and lied to me. One of my all time favourite politicians was Alan Johnson who I briefly corresponded with having read his books, unfortunately he didn't stay the course and as we know Labour veered to the left. Since then I've learnt a lot, I've learnt that despite being a woman, Thatcher was probably the greatest leader this country has had since Churchill.

It's fair to say I've not been a lifelong Tory voter.

As for Neo Liberalism, I don't believe it started with Thatcher, Neo Liberalism has gone way beyond free market capitalism, it's evolved into something far more sinister, and for the origins of that, you need to look in your beloved Europe's direction.

Annual £7.5bn cost of EU trade as bad for business as no-deal Brexit

British businesses will spend £7.5 billion a year handling customs declarations — as much as they would have done under a no-deal Brexit — the tax office admitted yesterday.

Jim Harra, chief executive of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), told MPs that the number of customs forms needed to trade with the European Union under the Brexit deal “is not materially different from a no-deal situation”.

Brexit - huge pile of poo.

Had an interesting chat today with a bloke from Bedfordshire, does logistics for a large food company. He mentioned the lorry driver crisis and how it's been brewing for years, how Brexit had caused him major headaches with paperwork but how they were now on top of it, to a degree. He said it was far easier to export to France than Northern Ireland. WTF?
