WHat a fantastic day at the olympics. Its been compulsive viewing and the best ever day i can remember (and checking on the ioc site it is for GB!). Cant help but feel proud and pleased for the competitors when all of the hard work and dedication pays off in a gold medal. Now lets have some more.

I agree and good luck to all the other British hopefuls.

I would love to know how much the general public are charged for entry into the Olympics. :D

oh come on you guys, you know its all a bucket of sh*t

i bet you were watching the ladies volleyball werent you

Innit it funny how the great wheel of sport changes over the years. We used to be brill at athletics - now we are rubbish. Cycling was never our cup of tea and now we dominate.

We are the best at rowing but second class in the horsey events. Although I suppose we have always been good at sailing - we have been beating the rest of the world at that since the 18th century. :) :)

shame we are total pants at football, soz forgot you were talking about the Olympics then.hope we get many more.

We invented most games it seems and now we get thrashed by everyone.
Buy yes it was an exciting days viewing!

Yes, very enjoyable from a sponsors point of view. In terms of entertainment then the Olympics is just a glorified School Sports Day and I find it incredibly dull with very few exceptions.

How many of people have had any interest in these people or their particular 'sport' in the last four years. Wouldn't matter if there was an egg'n'spoon race as long as we get a medal then the British will celebrate.

OOI, how many of these 17 GB medals were won by non English?

strange how we seem to excel at sports that seem to involve sitting on your backside, in some fashion!

I wonder how much each medal has cost the lottery tax payer?...

certainly far more than the equivalent weight in whatever metal won...

We should have an Olympic version of "It's a Knockout" - now that would be interesting and watchable for a couple of weeks.

Or Takeshi's Castle ... as long as Craig Charles does the commentary.

Otherwise the Olympics themselves, get a Gold medal for dullness
