Maybe voting should be compulsory.For those who said they were probably not going to vote (in other threads, but I cannot remember which) - just vote for change... so red, yellow, green ... obviously not purple or blue!

Thats in East Sussex, I live in West Sussex.
Bexhill isnt a dump, its just a quiet seaside resort with a long promenade -it is full of retirees.

Might not be a bad idea. It is in some countries - "Voting is compulsory in Australia. Failure to vote at a federal election without a valid and sufficient reason is an offence under section 245 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918. You are required to pay the $20 penalty"
In Brazil they state only compulsory for literate people 18-70. My wife voted this year - was a right palava. She's lived here 22 years but must still vote in elections, so off to London she went to sort it all out. I asked what happens if she doesn't vote - you get a fine. Turned out the fine was a lot less than the cost of going to London to vote - but about 2 days minimum wage pay in Brazil, so more than most people can afford to lose.
There's a lot to be said for it, but at the same time, people are now so brainwashed by the media that it probably won't make much difference.
