So what you see reported on the news about the PM, the fact he was badly ill with the same virus that seems to be killing people in their thousands means not a thing to you?

Not necessarily. I'm not being callous; I am trying to point out that we know very little about what's happening. We won't know for years until the whole thing has been calmly studied after the fact. At the moment, we are in the "The first casualty of war is the truth" stage. I'm trying to err on the optimistic side.

There's been other virus outbreaks that have killed many. I don't know why you're so reluctant to downplay this whole thing.

Only one question you have to ask yourself - why would any country put themselves in financial strife (via lockdown) if this wasn't actually deadly serious? It makes absolutely no sense to do this unless it's necessary. I just think you're choosing not to believe the news, the deaths and the scientists. Is it because you can't get to the pub?!

Agree, like him or loath him he does at times make revelations other people just wouldn't say, anmd the rest is mind games. That's why i find him interesting, compare him to Obumah who was just fking boring, but yes Trump is too far the other way, surely he can't last another term he needs to go, anyway i guess that's off topic.

SARs didn't come from a biology lab.
I think there was an incident some years ago were a worker in a biology lab died when he was accidentally infected with a sample of the SARs virus which had been brought to the lab for investigation.

People either love or hate Trump but no one can ignore him.

However i really believe he isn't a warmonger, of course he talks a good war occasionally but unlike his predecessors the Clintons and Obama he hasn't actually started any wars yet.

It might, it might not. Given there's a vaccine for Sars-1, it's probable there'll be one for Sars-2. No one knows if it'll be a once-a-year job like the flu vaccine, or a once/twice a lifetime like measles.

The HIV comparison is pretty poor, Sars-1 is, for obvious reasons, a better comparison.

According to the NHS there is no vaccine for SARs 1 or 2.

Scientists are as a rule, cautious people. They don't like saying where something came from unless they can prove it. There's plenty of theories but it's not as if the virus has a royal mail tracking number.
