ADT 3200 / Scantronic 9800 reset code?

Hello all,

recently moved into a new flat with an ADT 3200 alarm (which I understand is a rebranded Scantronic 9800). The cover over the panel came off when I bumped into it (unhelpfully loose screws), and set off the alarm I couldn't find the access code at the time, so pulled out the wires to the battery and the fuse. Subsequently found the access code, put everything back together, but have been left with an error code - 5r (or probably sr, system reset?).

I'm not planning on having it monitored, just a bells-only, and am loathe to shell out not insignificant amount of cash for someone to reset it for me. Would anyone be able to assist with resetting the system with whatever access code I would need to use? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks to all,

Marc

Thanks, sparkymarka, appreciate it. Will try it at the weekend to avoid the risk of waking up the entire street.....

Hmmm... Is is a 9800 or a 9800+ ? The 1st stage crash on the plus is straightforward but, if it's an older 9800, you'll end up having to reprogram from scratch. That doesn't take too long - just work your way through all the commands.

I just don't remember which one the ADT3200 is...

You could be right , but I've never seen a 9800 /3200 branded ADT only the 9800+

Hello again all. Right, back in my flat (not as I write, but in general). I've looked through the manual as sparkymarka suggested. Truth be told, I'm probably not confident enough to carry that out myself, much as I'd like to.

But just to clarify - the "sr" error is system reset, or system restart? I.e. is it information or an instruction?! Trying to understand whether I actually need to reset the system (with the engineer/installer code I don't have) or if there's an easier option?

Thanks again!

Hope this helps. List from many years ago & yes, I know some are the same.

Thanks Europlex. In my stupidity, I also managed to fail to spot the fact that I have an ADT 3200 plus......which per your list above, suggests a Scantronic 9800.

Given DIYing this alarm is beyond my skills and I don't have the installer/engineer code - is this something I can get a local alarm specialist to reset and sort out for me, or would it have to be an ADT engineer?

9827 is indeed the keypad model on the inside of the keypad.

As it turns out, was totally overcomplicating matters myself - just reconnected the battery/fuse to the panel, and it needed pressing the code twice (rather than once), and all up-and-running again.

Thanks again to everyone!
