BBC news just now, one person talking like it's a military siege, saying that "their defences were not good enough to stop us", people saying they are fighting for their freedom "this is our country", and saying America was built on revolution and conflict. Watching News they did make the comparison quite often that imagine if this was Muslims or Black people storming the Capitol Building - the response and reaction would have been markedly different.

This was an attempt to derail a political process to certify the new president - these people are domestic terrorists.

The same group who were defending the Police are now also burning blue police flags.

The same group shouting that you should obey the law, are the ones breaking it by staying out past the curfew and storming the Capitol.

Now as to the response by the Police and their hands off approach - is that preferred to the more aggressive approach used against other protesters?

Police needed to be more dominant. They were defending democracy.

All of the blame does not lie with Trump, the Republicans turned a blind eye to his actions which only emboldened him. The Republicans have been poking at this festering sore and resentment over decades - Trump just stuck a hot iron into it.

Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Lady G were all supporting his claims of a stolen election and would not certify the results.
