I remember buying an 8 foot tube from the wholesaler in the mid nineties. Walked across the carpark and dropped the bloody thing.
Well, miracle of miracles, it didn't smash. Installed it later that day and it's still going strong today!

I used a tube in the loft as a tv aerial mast for many years, may still be there for all i know as i moved out 1983
