Hello everyone. As you can see I'm a noob here and hoping that someone can help me. I've looked through previous posts and I can't find the solution to my problem :(

I have a Potterton Suprima 50 which until yesterday has been working fine. The unit is about 8 years old and had a new PCB around 2 years ago. Like I said, it's been working perfectly until yesterday when I noticed the rad in the bathroom was a bit chilly at the top. 'no problem' I thought, so I bled the air out. The rad was lovely and toasty for about half an hour, until there was a loud thud from the boiler and I got the dreaded 'red light' lock out.

Now the Mrs wants to kill me as we've got no heating and everything in the world is now my fault. And to cap it all it's our anniversary today, so you could say I'm in deep doo doo today

I appreciate you guys get a lot of questions like this and hope you can find a moment to answer my query.

Cheers Phil (in the doghouse)

ERRRR

Do you mean the warning lights on the front? If so it has a red at the top and a green just under it

I did mean that

you didnt get a recon PCB last did yuou as that is one of the old troublesome luggy boards that go wrong quickly

the new updated PCB has just one light.

COuld be that its gone again

As far as I know it was a brand new item. I thought it was odd that it suddenly stopped working when I bled the rad (i didn't suspect the PCB)

I do have an update though. I have been looking through some of the earlier posts and seeing if the solutions there would help. I have turned the HW off on the timer and Wheyhey the boiler has sprung into life :D

Now I'm really confused  how does turning the HW off make a difference? But I have got heat and I've put the emersion on for the water (hello big leccy bill )

Seems to have fixed itself. Voodoo or black magic? Who knows ;)

Thanks for the replies
