Any alternative to copper for gas?

Excerpt from Corgi Essential Gas Safety;

'Do not bury compression fittings - except where an appropriate fitting is used on MDPE pipework'

The answer to my doubter is www.bes.co.uk

Not sure what you're getting at? Compression fittings would be used if I were to use the 15mm copper pipe, no?

So why would you bury on MDPE pipe

it needs to be buried as over a period of time sunlight makes it brittle
also to protect it from damage eg spade kids traffic etc
