Anyone Stupid enough?..............

You always do....As an example... my mother had her first chinese meal about a month ago.... £30 per head with no booze, as i was not there, and she left the restaurant hungry...

You must live in a different world up north.... Even a basic meal in a curry shop for me will set me back about £25... and thats without a cobra....

maybe the north / south divide is bigger than i thought.... we've just had a starter and main, plus two drinks in a country pub for £35 between us..... and very nice food too !!

It's a mystery why anyone is having a dig at geraint for spending £40+ per head. If that's what it costs round his neck of the woods for the sort of meals he buys, then that's what it costs. :?

You can get cheaper.... but it is ****e...

The last time i had a steak, i ordered a 10 oz sirloin. £22.50 plus £2.50 for any veg or potato. so if you wanted the mushrooms , chips, onion rings etc. would have been over £30 for the main course alone.... a **** take, especially when the steak was ****e....

if you're referring to me, then this thread started out as a pizza thread... and anyone spending forty quid, per head, on a pizza or takeaway is a mug... the thread has developed into sitting in, chinese... etc...

That is good.... Please dont assume that it is all that bad here...Just seems that way.... :x :x :x You could eat out for a lot less but no quality.... They all seem to serve the same rubbish at top dollar...

Can't argue with that, and it's not dissimilar for a decent meal in a decent eatery in any part of the country.

Luckily... Pa was paying... Three courses and copious amounts of beer and wine.... And there was 7 of us..... :) :) :)

The main thing is, if you are happy to pay that price for good food, good service and could recommend them, I can't see the problem.
I have eaten in excellently acclaimed restaurants and found some to be somewhat average. Paradixically, I have enjoyed many a good meal in a Harvester / Beefeater. Do you not find sometimes that if you order a takeaway one day it's OK, then the next time, it might be a different chef and the food isn't that good?

to pay £9.99 for a Dominos pizza

Little wonder they can afford to pay people to stand by the roadside with their billboards advertising their rip off prices.

A round piece of bread with toppings that can be bought for £2 in the shops and mugs are paying a tenner!

Cant be asred to read the whole thread riveting as I am sure it is.
Dominoes are a huge nationwide successful business whose annual turnover I can only imagine.
You are some bloke moaning on a DIY forum.
Need I say more?

You lot had better not go to Jamie Olivers or Gordon Ramseys then.
Although Olivers is a bit cheaper, but expect £150.00 for two with some wine

Taxi back was a bit of a liberty though, Canary Wharf to North London £98.00. Thats Black Cabs for ya

That says more about the lazy chav culture in this country than it does about the quality of dominoes pizzas.
