Just want to know whether it's necessary to use hoseclips when connecting the hose to the drain valve of the central heating, or whether the hose when pushed on will create a dripless connection?

Many thanks

Thank you.
I've gone with the clip.

Can the boiler still be used for hot water if I was not to re-pressurise the C/H system for a few days?

Or is that a no-no ?

I am not a plumber, but AFAIK a combi- boiler will not work if it determines that the pressure is too low.

What boiler do you have as some are ok to use the isolating valves to keep boiler pressurised some are an absolute no no to touch

It's a Worcester 30si.
I want to be able to keep using the hot water for washing while keeping the c/h system drained down so that I can work on it. What do you think ?

nope do not touch those isolating valves they have a reputation for leaking when turned back on
