Are we a racist society?

Thanks. Got any data where Mr Smith or Miss Jones applies to Patel industries inc?
If they advertise on the internet then they'd be included too.

Do you think that ethnic minorities having to work 60% harder to get a job is significant? Because I do.

Amusing that nobody has done a reverse study? Why? Wouldn’t you like to know?
Do you know that, have you searched for that, or are you making an assumption.

And what is your point, that ethnic minorities are controlling all the key industries in the UK and blocking white applicants?

Do you not think that white British people would be considered an ethnic minority in an Asian owned and run company? Because I do.

Considered ethnic minority? WTF has that label got to do with being held back because you are not white?

Folk are pointing out the difficulties some people are up against in their everyday lives, simply because they have the wrong sounding surname. The white man rarely suffers the same levels of prejudicial discrimination, no matter where in the world.

I didn't bring up the subject but as both you and carman were quick to search out data to back up your post but are not willing, for balance, to search alternative data led me to make an assumption.

My point is that racism goes both ways and it’s not just us nasty whities that have racist tendencies. When I was working in South Africa, the worse instances of racism that I saw were carried out by coloureds towards blacks but you never hear about that.

A tidal wave

Tell that to a Zimbabwean farmer. You may find that they would disagree with you.
You mean that old British colony in the middle of the most (Black) oppressed areas on the planet, where the white man enslaved the black man for nearly 40 years? I'm sure their British rulers gave some tasty jobs out to those black fellas back then.

Kept the country going though, didn’t they? Look at it now. This sums it up:

"I was born in Scotland and grew up in Rhodesia in the 50’s and 60’s…….. Over these years I have watched it deteriorate in every way possible such that, apart from its natural beauty, it has become a living hell for almost everyone. When I look back now on the Rhodesia I grew up in - gone forever - it was a paradise on earth, and I was very lucky to have had a well-balanced upbringing. Rhodesia was not a country based upon racial discrimination - it was a country based upon the reality of cultural differentiation".
