We are told that mass immigration is a good thing.

But I think it's very complicated with lots of factors.

One issue is that many people were less bothered about hundreds of thousands of people coming from Europe than the same number coming from Africa and South Asia.

Unless there is a massive new development, on the scale of the Industrial Revolution, then we seem to have reached the peak of what we can accomplish. Things are only going to get worse from now on. IMHO.

given our size, we still have a fair amount of clout

also UK has one of the most powerful global financial centres

we have the worlds top ranking universities

we are considered to be a global leader in science and technology


the problems in this country are heavily caused by flogging everything to private equity / sovereign wealth funds
